The mountain reedbuck is more gregarious than the reedbuck. It lives in mountainous terrain, using rocks and boulders as cover. In the heat of the day it rests, coming down to drink and feed in the cool of the evening.

Diet – Predominantly grass, but will also feed on broad leaves and small twigs.
